        What is Dietetics? Dietetics is a science that deals with food, nutrition, and health. Within the field of Dietetics & Nutrition, you can choose to become either a Registered Dietitian(RD) or Dietetic Technician, registered(DTR).

       Who are Registered Dietitians? Registered Dietitians are experts in food and nutrition. They go to college for 4 years to obtain an undergraduate degree and training in foods and nutrition, and then they pass a national test to make them registered. They learn about food, food science, nutrition, biology, chemistry, math, and more.

       Who are Dietetic Technicians? Dietetic technicians are trained infood and nutrition, and work as a team with dietitians to help people learn about eating right. They also work together to provide nutritious food to their clients. Dietetic technicians, registered(DTRs) go to college for 2 years to obtain their associate degree and training, and then pass a national test to make them registered.

       Where to Start! Right now, emphasize science courses in your academic studies. Biology, anatomy, and chemistry will be extremely important throughout your career.

       Math, English, Sociology, Psychology, Computer and Business courses will also be important. Where can you Work?
